Our Winemakers

Great wines come from great vineyards

Our winemaking and vineyard management team follow the credo of the Jones family of farmers: "Be good to the land and the land will be good to you."

Philip Jamison Jones

Jamie, a sixth-generation farmer at Jones Family Farms, returned to the family farm after earning a degree in Plant Science at Cornell. He planted the original vineyard in 1999 at Pumpkinseed Hill, and in 2003, he founded the Philip Jamison Jones Winery. Today, Jamie is the farmer in charge of all the agricultural operations at the Jones Family Farms and the Jones Winery. Jamie is extremely proud of the winemaking, and the vineyard management team shares his family's commitment to sustainable farming and the philosophy that great wines come from great vineyards.

Joseph Patrick

Our Winemaker, Joseph Patrick, first worked at the Jones Family Farms in high school, exhibiting at an early age his passion for sustainable agriculture. After receiving a college degree in Viticulture and Enology, he worked at the esteemed Red Newt Cellars as well as Glacier Ridge Vineyards, located on Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes. Joe then returned to his roots at the Jones Winey, and soon rose to be the head winemaker. Since returning to Jones, Joe’s diverse experiences and knowledge have brought Jones wines to another level.
